HISTORY
We completed the development of the 2025 game based on the 2024 season. The idea was to rate the drivers according to the strengths of their respective cars. That's why teammates initially had the same fixed ratings.
However, while developing the 1986 season, we realized that races become even more exciting and interesting when teammates' fixed ratings are evaluated more individually. For example, if you look at the cards of Mansell and Piquet, you'll see that both were very strong on fast tracks, and the Williams car had superior power. Still, their fixed ratings differ slightly, which makes the duels between them even more engaging.
We also made sure that the new rating system better reflects qualifying results.
While working on the 1976 season, we found that back then the goal during a race was usually to finish without a pit stop. That's why we invented the Car Check, which replaces the Pit Stop Chart.
Each season has been developed individually and uses slightly different features to authentically convey the racing feel of its time.
Thanks to feedback, we added three new ideas for the 2003 season, which were very well received.
We'll also try to slightly update and refresh each season we offer. Updated seasons will, of course, always be made available to all buyers free of charge!
Currently, I'd say that the 2003 and 1986 seasons offer the most fun gameplay. But each season has its own appeal and unique story.
Current
October 29, 2025
Our first two non-replay-only seasons are now available! The sets are “1960s (1963–1966)” and “Late 90s (1995–2000)”.
We’ve also included a driver list. The 1986, 1976, and now also 2024 seasons have been updated.
If you’ve already purchased these, contact us — you’ll of course receive the updates for free!
We’ll soon be releasing Version 2.0, which will include updated game charts. This update will also be free.
Which seasons are still missing? Would you prefer a single season or multiple combined? Do you like older or newer seasons better? Vote and let us know!
Future
We have several ideas for new content we'd like to create. For example, we're planning to make Best-Of sets featuring the strongest drivers over a span of, say, five years. These drivers would compete based on their average strength during that period, creating close and exciting duels.
Why?
Take Schumacher vs. Hakkinen, for instance. There's no single season that perfectly captures their legendary rivalry — some years, one clearly had the upper hand over the other.
A possible grid could look like this:
- Ferrari: M. Schumacher / Irvine
- McLaren: Hakkinen / Coulthard
- Williams: Hill / Villeneuve
- Benetton: Alesi / Berger
- Jordan: R. Schumacher / Fisichella
- Arrows: Salo / Takagi
- Stewart: Herbert / Barrichello
- Prost: Panis / Trulli
- Ligier: Diniz / Boullion
- Minardi: Badoer / Gené
The same would be possible with Senna/Prost at McLaren vs. Piquet/Mansell at Williams, for example.
Another interesting project would be a Future Set. Our 2024 set is still the most popular, which tells us that many of you enjoy racing with current drivers.
We could create a set for the 2026 season, once all relevant information and predictions are available. This way, you could play the game alongside the actual races in 2026.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on these ideas! The more feedback we get from you, the better we can shape the content in the direction you want.
